About PL

Leading as a Part of Nature, Not Apart from it.

Perma Leadership opens a new path for today’s leaders.

Anchored in Permaculture ethics and principles, action learning, immersion and wellness practices both ancient and new, Perma Leaders strive to create a thriving future for all!

Perma Leadership calls for  leaders to hold three ethics in balance: Care for People, Care for Planet and Care for our Shared Future.

Perma Leadership helps leaders to:

01

Reignite a deep connection with self, others and nature.

02

Reconnect with past and emergent wisdom as a way to re-shape the way we think about the present and the future.

03

Explore the future through the lens of seven shifts significantly changing our world narrative.

04

Be inspired by others successfully navigating “seemingly- impossible” change.

05

Build the stamina and grit needed for continuous transformation.

06

Apply the principles of methodologies of permaculture and nature-centred design to apply and realize the new narrative and future they aspire to.

07

Infuse passion, commitment and determination into the organizations’ sustainability and regeneration goals.

Embodied Learning is the
foundation of Perma Leadership

Embodied learning involves disciplined and intentional practices that integrate mind, body and energy, inside and out, developing authentic leaders whose walk matches their talk.

Recognizing that enduring change involves the body and that connected intuition and empathy are, first and foremost, felt senses, we engage leaders in physical training drawn from proven traditions, including Zen, yoga, and martial arts.

Our training enables leaders to viscerally experience their connected self and co-arising empathy and wisdom.

Perma Leadership: a deeply immersive experience.

Immersion is the disciplined and intentional practice of seeking and applying external insight to inspire, shape and elevate leadership.

Recognized for its power to shift thinking rapidly, it holds participants accountable for learning as well as applying the learning.

It enables them to viscerally experience the power of curiosity and observation as well as the joy of seeing the world with fresh eyes.

Growth
mindset

• Be open, curious, and non-judgemental.

• Be observant and commute those observations to insights.

Immersion
experience

Immerse yourself in direct experience, practices, conversations or viewpoints outside your normal sphere.

Process

• Reflect – Consider a focusing application, an area to explore through immersion.

• Prepare – Review materials to get ready for your experience, align on your approach for collective experiences.

• Apply – make sense of what you learned and commitments for how to apply it.

The Perma Leadership Framework

Four mutually-informing phases enabling:

  • A transformative personal leadership journey
  • Collective, shared leadership in a team, organization or ecosystem
  • Innovation / disruption across many dimensions – business model, product, process, service or organizational design
  • The stamina, grit and inspiration for the future we wish to manifest

Each phase is supported by discovery experiences, learnable processes and practices
